First time making the twins food

So I have been wanting to make the babies food since they started eating solids but with the craziness of moving I put it off. Last night Jon and I took the twins to the new Whole Foods which is about a mile from our house (DANGEROUS!!!). We bought some of the veggies they are already eating (squash, green beans) and also some new foods. (I have to say how I think it is so funny that I buy their veggies at Whole Foods and get the organic versions while we eat the ones from Aldi's). Today I tried making my own avocado puree and it was surprisingly easy. Just blend with some water and freeze in the ice cube trays. If you have bought baby food in jars you know how expensive it is. Well, this was so easy and one avocado made almost a whole ice cube tray. I think I could get addicted to what I could puree and feed them!!! They both ate all their avocado and seemed to like it.

After dinner we walked to a little lake near our house. Jon fly fished for a bit and the babies watched with me. It is so nice to have places like this near our home and as I sat there with the babies I thought about picnics with them. Then reality hit and I thought will I be chasing them as they try to jump in the water or catch one of the geese?!?

Around the new house

We have been in our new house for about a week and a half now and are getting settled. This house has so much more room than our house in Dogtown. We have lots of space and the best part of the house is the finished basement with plenty of room for all the babies stuff AND ours! We spend a lot of time down there. Here are a few pictures from around the house.

Elaina is really trying to crawl. If you put her on her back, she immediately flips and then starts trying to move. It is only a matter of weeks before she is on the go!!

Baptism

This weekend the twins were baptized at St. James the Greater, our former church in Dogtown. We were so happy so many of our friends and family could celebrate with us! Elaina's godparents are my brother David and his fiance Amy. Skylar's godparents are my brother Tim and his wife Erika. Following a beautiful ceremony where neither baby cried (until the end when Skylar had enough!), we had a party at my mom's house. Thank you mom for hosting the party which was planned before we knew we were moving three days before.
